When does the Diploma Course take place?

The 6 month Edinburgh School of Food and Wine Diploma take place twice a year normal start January and July.

What happens in a average day at the school?

The course is full time and students are required to attend Monday – Friday from 09.00 to 17:00. Due to the high demand of the course and so we can teach student the very best knowledge and techniques we have to offer, we do advise that sick days etc are kept to a minimum, although we do understand that life issues and sickness can affect our student we do everything we can to help and support them. We believe that working in the culinary world isn’t just about individuals working together but a family of well trained and knowledgeable people working as one.

Do Students learn about food safety and health and Safety at Work?

From day one of the course all student follow strict food safety and health and safety at work practices so that they become an interracial part of there every day working lives.

Does the Diploma include real life kitchen experience?

Parts of the course includes occasions were student get to experience real life kitchen and serving customer. Parts of the course take part at Bute House in Edinburgh, were students learn skills in food preparation and serving skills for the First Minister and guests. Student are also encourage to participate in the Schools Food and Wine Evenings were they get to serve, cook and interact with real customer in the Bell Tower Room of the School beautiful 18th Century Coach House surrounding.
