Essential training for all food handlers. Gain the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate, showing that you have taken steps to be as informed as possible. Remember – an outbreak of food poisoning is defined as 2 or more affected people.
Who is it for?
All food handlers, including bar and waiting staff, need food hygiene training. Under the Food Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006, all food businesses must operate hygienically and all food handlers must be supervised and/or trained in food hygiene. This includes all food, whether opened or packaged, as well as drinks and ice!
How would a food hygiene qualification help me?
In the event of an outbreak of food poisoning, the only defence available to you is ‘due diligence’. The easiest way of proving this is for all staff to be trained in food hygiene.
